Amana error codes

Amana is Whirlpool Corporation's budget laundry line, built on the same platforms as Whirlpool and Maytag machines and showing the same fault codes. An F9 E1 on an Amana is the same drain fault, checked the same way, at the same cost.

Every code your Amana can show

Each one opens the full write up on the Whirlpool page: the same board, the same fault, the same repair.

How a Amana differs

Amana machines carry the least electronics of the family, and that works in your favour here: fewer sensors mean fewer codes and a shorter list of things that can fail. Some models are simple enough to show the older short codes, LF or Sd, where a newer Whirlpool would display the F8 E1 or Sd pairs. Both spellings are covered on each code page.

Where the shortcut stops

Amana also sells appliances that have nothing to do with Whirlpool platforms, particularly older units and some room air conditioners carrying the name from earlier ownership. If your machine predates about 2006, treat the codes here as a starting point rather than an answer.
