- What does HC mean on a Whirlpool washing machine?
- The hot and cold hoses are connected the wrong way round. Nothing is damaged, and the machine will often still run. But every cycle is using the wrong water temperature, which means cold washes in hot water and hot washes in cold, so colours fade and stains do not shift. Start here: turn off both taps.
- What does HC mean on a Samsung dishwasher?
- The water in the machine got hotter than it should have. No. Heating that is not being controlled properly is the one fault on a dishwasher worth stopping for. It can warp plastics in the load, and repeatedly resetting past it asks the machine to keep heating with nothing reliably telling it when to stop. Start here: cut the power for five minutes.
