Questions people ask
- What does 6E mean on a Samsung dishwasher?
- The control panel thinks a button is being held down. No, but this is one of the least alarming codes on the machine. Nothing mechanical has failed. The panel is reporting a key it believes is pressed, and until it stops believing that, nothing else can be selected. Start here: press every button once, deliberately.
- What does 6E mean on an LG washing machine?
- The clutch cannot do its job, usually because something is jammed between the pulsator and the tub. Stop running cycles. If a coin or a zip is wedged in there, every attempt grinds it further in and turns a two minute job with a pair of pliers into a clutch replacement. Start here: empty the drum and look at the seam with a torch.
Do not see your machine? We publish a brand only once its codes are confirmed against manufacturer documentation and a second independent source. That is slower than guessing, and it is the whole point of the site.
This is not a coincidence of one code: we compared every code that appears on more than one brand and found that several mean the opposite depending on the badge.
